Upcoming Programs and Concerts
The next program of New Music at the Pozen Center is scheduled for
Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 5:00
pm. It will include electronic music of John Holland with video
images by Stephanie Cardon, Elliott Carter's Four Lauds for Solo Violin, and feature the Rathbun-Rivera
Violin and Piano Duo performing John Holland's Sonata for Violin and Piano (2010).
Spoken texts on subjects that intersect science and art will precede
various pieces, and as always there will be musical hors d'oeuvres and
refreshments.
Admission is free.
This November will be the first in a series of electronic music
programs in Boston presented each Fall at the Pozen Center at Massart, and
then a new program in the Spring in Pierce Hall at New England Conservatory
on St. Botolph St. Along with new works, there will be an electronic
'classic' presented on each program.
The Fall program will take place on Friday, November 19th,
2010 at 7:30 in the Pozen Center. There will be new works by
composers John Holland, John Mallia, and Marc McNulty.
Included on the program will be Karlheinz Stockhausen's original
four-channel version of Gesang der
Junglinge.
